So far, Mine Blocks 2 has gone through some extremely important changes. It's already looking better than Mine Blocks 1!
- MB2's new world generator only takes a few seconds to generate the world, which is 30 times shorter than MB1. Not to mention it's triple the size!
- The character movement isn't very glitchy and you don't phase through blocks every time you move.
- Already with a few lines of code, tiles are able to be efficiently manipulated, while it takes hundreds of lines of code with MB1.
- Cacti, vines, grass, and sand all have some logic to them with only a few lines of code.
- As you can already tell, the game doesn't have that tiresome and annoying lag that MB1 has. 50 FPS for crying out loud!
And then there's multiplayer! Right now multiplayer tests have proven 80% successful. I was able to play a game and move around with my friends. There is a lot of server lag, though. This is going to stay, unfortunately, but it doesn't really kill the fun of the game.
What's to come?
Well actually, the next things to come are a polished, working version of multiplayer for anyone to test out. Then, I'm going to work on water, mobs, an inventory, and...
Well I can't tell you the other ones... they are a bit classified and I don't want anyone to feel like they "JUST CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!"
Anyway, I just needed to fill you in. You can play the newest version here: Mine Blocks 2.
